Candidate consent under modern privacy expectations
What to communicate before checks begin—so TA and compliance stay aligned.
Consent is not a checkbox buried in an offer letter. It is the moment a candidate understands the screening journey and can complete it without confusion or surprise.
Before invite: confirm the package matches the role. Sending a court-heavy programme for a low-risk internship creates drop-off and trust issues.
In the invite: name the employer, list check types in plain language, say approximate timing, and link to help. Mobile-first instructions reduce incomplete submissions.
During collection: ask only for documents that support ordered checks. Extra fields “just in case” increase risk without improving outcomes.
After decision: make sure recruiters know what candidates may ask for, and how access or correction requests are routed. Clarity here prevents escalations that look like product failures but are process gaps.
